Planned Home Improvements

Find out more about how we carry out upgrades to your home

SBHA team

We are committed to ensuring that your home is well-maintained and meets the Scottish Housing Quality Standard (SHQS).

Our planned works programme, delivered through our Asset Management Team, ensures that our properties are maintained effectively over time. More details on our Stock Condition Surveys, Planned Maintenance Programme and Aids and Adaptations can be found within this section.

Surveying your home

Stock condition surveys ensure that our plans are informed by the best information, meaning that we can deliver the right upgrades to your home at the right time.

Kitchens, bathrooms, boilers, heating systems and doors and windows all have an expected ‘life’ - this is how long we expect them to last. See the table for information on the expected ‘life’ of each of these.

We also carry out thorough surveys of homes to ensure that our plans are informed by the best information, so we can deliver the right upgrades to your home at the right time. It’s really important that we’re able to gain access to homes to carry these surveys out. If an appointment for an inspection of your home isn’t suitable, please let us know. We will happily arrange a more suitable alternative for you. Just call us on 0800 0193 222, or email enquiries@sbha.org.uk

The team really enjoy meeting Tenants and will be pleased to help with any enquiries or queries you have, so please do get in touch or speak to them when you see them out and about.

Planned upgrades

SBHA’s Planned Maintenance Programme delivers concentrated investment in two areas per year, covering all of the areas we serve over a six-year period. This investment programme ensures that we provide safe, comfortable homes with modern facilities for all of our Tenants. Several million pounds are spent each year on major projects to replace key elements such as kitchens, bathrooms, windows and central heating in Tenants’ homes.

This year we have plans to deliver £12.2million in homes, underlining our commitment to create great places to live.
