Supporting Tenants – Debbie and Matt in Peebles
Welfare Benefits Officer Debbie Mzee and Warm and Well Co-ordinator Matt Rorison attended an event at Peebles High School on Thursday to share info on what they do and how they can help people struggling with finances.
This event was an initial showcase for services and support in the area. Event organisers Peebles Adult Social Work are hoping to turn this into a regular monthly event for people to access advice.
Matt says: “This was a great event – a really good idea to bring everyone together in this way. It was very well attended, with lots of young people keen to hear about what we do.”
Debbie can help you identify and apply for any Benefits you may be entitled to, including helping you to navigate any changes in benefits entitlement due to a change in circumstances – for example when you retire. She can also help if you need to ask for a Benefits decision to be looked at again.
Matt’s role is to help people heat their homes more affordably, through finding ways to conserve heat in the home, helping people to access vouchers for pre-payment meters and helping to address fuel bill debt.
