SBTO’s Annual Gardening Competition – the runners-up!
A huge thank you to everyone who entered this year’s gardening competition. We were completely blown away by the standard of the entries this year!
Here are your runners-up….
The winner of the Best Amenity Garden category is… RUTHERFORD SQUARE IN KELSO – HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ALL!!
The Judges thought that the plant pots full of colourful flowers at the front of the building looked absolutely beautiful.
The winner of the Best Window Box category is…SANDY SCOTT FROM LANGLEE – HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!
The Judges thought that Sandy’s bright window box added a lovely pop of colour and made great use of what could have been a plain, empty space. Sandy also works hard and maintains the path planters, archway and pots on the entry to the block of flats.
The winner of the Best Container Garden category is…TONY BURTON FROM ST BOSWELLS – HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!
The Judges thought that Tony’s fabulous garden was a very worthy winner for the second year in a row. There are so many different types of plants and colourful flowers – it really is a floral feast for the eyes! Now in his 90th year, Tony not only tends to his beautiful back garden but also maintains a very well kept front garden.
The winner of the Best Food Grown in Garden or Home category is… MARION BROCKIE FROM PEEBLES – HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!
The Judges loved the variety of food being grown in Marion’s garden and greenhouse. From potatoes and carrots, to tomatoes and cucumbers, plus fruit trees and a variety of herbs – there is such a wide selection.
Marion enjoys her garden and she makes jams, chutneys, sauces, soups, and even gin from her produce. She even shares her food products with her neighbours. Her gorgeous wee doggies love her garden too!
All runners up will receive a £50 gardening voucher.
