SBHA Supporting Young People Across the Borders!

Last week, Carole Pritchard (HR Business Partner) and Louise McNeilage (Tenant & Community Engagement Facilitator) visited Hawick High School to run fun, interactive communication skills workshops for the S5 and S6 induction day. Our thanks to Stacey Grieve (Vocational & Curriculum Partnerships Officer) and the team at HHS for inviting us along for our 3rd year!
🎀 β€˜The Great Debate’ challenged pupils to argue their case on hot topics like:
🍍 Pineapple on πŸ• pizza?
🐱 Cats vs 🐢 Dogs
⚽️ Football vs πŸ‰ Rugby
πŸ› In-store vs πŸ“±Online shopping
🎀 Taylor Swift vs Ariana Grande
From persuasive language and rebuttals to non-verbal cues like eye contact and body language, pupils developed teamwork, confidence, and communication skills that are key for school, further education, and the workplace.
πŸ‘ Huge credit to the students for their energy, collaboration and creativity throughout!
🎯 SBHA is proud to support and inspire young people in the Scottish Borders – helping them build essential life skills for the future.
πŸ“ Next stop: Galashiels Academy for more workshops with our partners at Developing the Young Workforce – Borders!
