Our Warm & Well Service – Top Tips
With temperatures set to stay on the low side for a while yet, our Warm and Well Co-ordinator Matt Rorison is on hand with some top tips for saving energy while staying warm.
Matt says: “My job is to help people find ways to make their homes more energy efficient and affordably warm to live in, to encourage people to change their habits even in small ways which in time will lead to bigger savings in their pockets. These are unprecedented times and people need more support than normal. My goal is to make sure that Warm and Well engages with as many people as possible to not only tackle fuel poverty but to make sure their homes are as energy efficient as possible.”
You can make an appointment with Matt by calling 01750 724444, or you can email mrorison@sbha.org.uk. You can also get in touch via your Neighbourhood Housing Officer.
Matt’s top tips for energy efficiency:
– Block out at many draughts as you can.
– Turn down the thermostat by 1 degree.
– Move the sofa away from radiators/heaters to allow heat to
circulate.
– Use timers on central heating, so that it’s only coming on
when you need it.
– Use curtains to help contain the heat in the evening.
