Hawick High School Young People join SBHA for the week!

SBHA was delighted to host three Hawick High School students for work experience last week – Abbie, Danny and Gosia. Abbie worked primarily in the HR team with Carole and Rory, Danny was out with Matthew – one of our plumbers, and Gosia helped out with Tenant and Community Engagement with Louise and lots of other team members in the office and out and about in our communities.

Abbie and Gosia each created a storyboard with highlights of their work experience week (see below) – aren’t they brilliant! Some of the highlights included: a door knock and leaflet drop at Croft Street in Galashiels – meeting lots of Tenants; an Estate Walkabout in Selkirk; creating content for upcoming events; reviewing our website, documents and policies; seeing how Tenants report repairs and how the jobs are scheduled; learning about the wide range of roles available in housing; and meeting the Vice-Chair of SBTO.

It was a great week, they all worked hard and impressed their mentors – each are a credit to Hawick High School and we wish them all the best for their final year and good luck in their future careers!
