Essential Gas Servicing #KeepingYouSafe
During lockdown, we’re continuing to deliver essential services. One of these is our gas servicing programme, delivered by engineers like Ross, pictured below. Here to explain a bit more about what’s involved in this is Steve Lockney, contract delivery manager for our gas contractor, PH Jones.
Why are you continuing with gas servicing throughout lockdown?
‘All gas appliances must be serviced each year, to ensure that they remain in good working order. This is a safety issue, but it’s also about making sure that you have heating and hot water – especially important during the cold winter months.’
How does this work?
‘PH Jones will send you a letter with an appointment. If it’s not convenient, don’t worry – you can just give us a call and reschedule. Provided we’ve got your up-to-date contact details, you will receive a text on the day before your appointment, and then again on the day to let you know that the engineer is on his way.’
What can I expect at an appointment?
‘As you’d expect, we always wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment for each job, which we will then take away with us when we’re done. Your service should take between 20 and 45 minutes, depending on the type of system. We completely understand that at the moment people might be reluctant to have us in their homes. Please be assured that we will look after you. It’s vital that we’re able to get access to carry out this check.’
