Covid – remember the FACTS to stay safe

Following the announcement of the small outbreak of Covid cases in Hawick, please remember that it is essential that everyone follows the Scottish Government guidance and public health advice available at NHS Inform. Please let us know if you or a member of your household is self-isolating – call us on 01750 724444.

Remember the FACTS that will help all of us stay safe and protect each other:

• The symptoms of COVID-19 are a new persistent cough, temperature and/or loss or change in ability to taste or smell

• It is essential that anyone in the community that is displaying symptoms self isolates immediately, along with the rest of their household, and seeks a test.

• You can book a test either by going online to www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or calling 0800 028 2816. Whilst you wait for your test all of your household members should self-isolate.

• It is essential that only people with COVID-19 symptoms book a test. Other household members must self-isolate but should not be tested unless they too are showing any symptoms.

• Everyone needs to remember the FACTS that will help all of us to stay safe and protect each other as well:

  • Face coverings in enclosed spaces
  • Avoid crowded places
  • Clean hands and surfaces regularly
  • Two metre distancing; and
  • Self-isolate and book a test if you have symptoms
