Clear it Away – our Fire Safety campaign
As part of our recently launched Clear it Away campaign, SBHA welcomes the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service support of our Clear it Away fire safety campaign #keepingyousafe – encouraging our Tenants to take up their offer of free fire safety advice.
Area Commander Stephen Gourlay, Local Senior Officer for the Scottish Borders comments: “We are delighted to support SBHA’s proactive ‘Clear it Away’ campaign highlighting the importance of keeping communal areas free from clutter and rubbish in Tenants’ homes.
“These communal areas are vital routes of escape for residents and entry for our firefighters and partners in an emergency, and in the event of a fire or another emergency, a failure to keep closes, landings and hallways clear could have severe consequences.
“That’s why we are working closely with SBHA to support this campaign, and also continuing to offer advice on fire safety plus free Home Fire Safety Visits (taking the appropriate Covid-19 precautions to keep people safe). We are particularly keen to reach those who are most at risk of fires in the home.”
