The standard of entries in this year’s Tenant Gardening Competition was outstanding, showcasing the hard work, creativity and community spirit of tenants across the Scottish Borders.
The competition recognises the effort residents put into enhancing their homes and neighbourhoods, whether through colourful displays, home-grown produce, community gardens or small-space planting. Our judges were impressed by the wide variety of entries and the pride shown in maintaining and improving outdoor spaces.

Overall Best Garden
Sheila Gass, Galashiels – Winner of a £50 voucher and the prestigious Eric Kelly Memorial Trophy.
Best Container Garden
Patricia Alexander, Selkirk – £50 voucher winner.
Best Window Box or Small Space
Sandy Scott, Langlee and Olha Shandra, Galashiels – Joint winners receiving a £50 voucher each.
Best Food Grown in Garden or Home
George Scott, Lauder – £50 voucher winner.
Best Amenity Garden
Rutherford Square, Kelso and Hazeldean, Galashiels – Joint winners receiving a £50 voucher each.
Most Improved Garden
