Housing Officers serve up Soupalunch

Two of our Neighbourhood Housing Officers, Rebecca Hilferty and Kaye Forsyth, are now regularly volunteering at the Hawick Congressional Church as part of Soupalunches.

Soupalunch is a volunteer-based project run on Wednesday afternoons which offers people of all ages good, honest, homemade food at an excellent price.

Around 60 people attend Soupalunch every week for a healthy, homemade lunch.

Kaye said: “We really enjoy being part of such a great project. Walkabouts give Tenants the opportunity to meet with Housing Officers and raise the issues that they feel are important within their communities. However, we understand that walkabouts don’t work for everyone, so we look for opportunities to meet with people in other settings.

“We’re also going to be joining forces with the other Soupalunch volunteers to look at fundraising ideas. Watch this space!”
