Apprenticeship week – building future careers

As part of Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2020, we catch up with IT and CRM Apprentice Ben Richardson about how his apprenticeship is preparing him for the future.

What does your job involve?
I provide IT and Helpdesk support to the SBHA Team. This work is extremely varied!
As part of my apprenticeship, I have the opportunity to achieve my qualification in IT and Telecommunications while gaining on-the-job experience.

What’s the most interesting part of your job?
I really enjoy communicating with others in the workplace and finding solutions to their IT issues. It is very satisfying being able to help people whilst developing my IT skills.

What next?
I want to continue developing my skills in IT. I’ve always been really interested in housing and would like to continue my career in this field. I hope to do a housing qualification in the future.
