Last week Scottish Borders Housing Association welcomed more than 60 Tenants to consultation events around the Borders.
Tenants were invited to join Team members for afternoon tea or fish and chips, to share ideas about neighbourhood improvements and to hear about work that has been carried out in their area – much of it having come about as a result of previous Tenant suggestions. They also heard about a new Customer App, which will enable Tenants to manage their rent accounts and book repairs via their mobile device. The app will be rolled out later in the year.
SBHA currently offers more than 18 ways for Tenants to get involved in decision making. These range from taking part in walkabouts, roadshows events and scrutiny groups to mystery shopping and phone and online surveys.
Director of Customer Services Henry Coyle commented:
“We are grateful to all of the Tenants who came out to meet us and to share their ideas. These events offer a fun, informal way for people to learn more about what’s going on in their areas and to tell us what else we could be doing to make improvements. These suggestions play a major role in our plans going forward and we look forward to reporting back on what we’ve done to make our communities great places to live.”
