SBHA’s Tenant Participation Strategy – Have your say

We want you to have your say in shaping our future Tenant Participation Strategy.

By listening to your feedback from our annual surveys we have delivered a lot of change: moving to a neighbourhood model with our staff out and about in the estates; the solutions team as a one stop shop for information; and providing advice and surgeries in our local offices.

And now SBHA are reviewing their fourth Tenant Participation Strategy (2017-2020), working closely with the Scottish Borders Tenants Organisation, its Board of Management and the wider Tenants of SBHA.

All social landlords in Scotland are required under the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001 to have in place a Tenant Participation Strategy. The Strategy sets out opportunities to participate and how Tenants can become involved in having a say on key issues that affect the services which SBHA provides.

SBHA recognises that for Tenant Participation to be meaningful, it must be properly resourced financially and supported with staff time, and we would very much appreciate feedback from Tenants.

For a chance to have your say on the proposed changes, see the survey at the back of our Spring Newsletter, or follow this link to our electronic survey, which also includes some questions on our proposed governance changes. As a thank you for your feedback, one lucky SBHA Tenant who submits the survey by post or online by Friday 12th May will win a Kindle Fire tablet!
