Kieran Supports Organisational Change

Kieran supports organisational change

Kieran Forbes from Denholm, near Hawick has successfully secured an apprenticeship with SBHA working for 1 year to help implement the Association’s new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.  The apprenticeship is part of SBHA’s strategy to increase job and training opportunities for young people, the Association having provided 15 work placements for Scottish Borders College students and 4 young people from local schools in the last year.

Paul Foster, CRM Implementation Analyst comments “over the years SBHA has supported 23 apprenticeships mostly on the trades side of the business and we are delighted to work with Borders College to support apprenticeships for corporate functions, like IT within the business.”

SBHA is undertaking a transformation over the next couple of years which aims to significantly improve services to Tenants and other customers.  Part of this change is the introduction of the new CRM system which will help resolve most queries at the first point of contact when in the office or out in the community.  Kieran will complete a Modern Apprenticeship in Business and Administration and will play a key role in implementing the new systems and processes to deliver service improvement for Tenants.

Jill Lawrie, Training Consultant from Borders College comments “it’s great to work with local companies like SBHA for work-based learning.  Building relationships with employers and apprentices is extremely rewarding.  The Modern Apprenticeship programme allows the candidate to meet their full potential in a working environment whilst gaining recognised qualifications.”

Kieran comments “after school I did a year at Borders College and completed an NC in Digital Media.  This apprenticeship will help me get my Level 2 in Business Administration.  I was a bit nervous about the interview and tests, but I’m pleased I was picked.”
